Preseason doesn't mean ****, but Douglas "don't call me Doug" Murray had a GAME.

In 210 career NHL games he has scored exactly 1 goal. In a preseason game against the Anaheim Fucks he gets a hatty. Let's see if he can double his regular season total to 2 goals this year....

Last season....

With Ryan Miller starting: 34-18-6 (104 point pace, 4th Eastern Conference) 2.54 GAA
With Lalime/Tellqvist starting: 7-14-3 (64 point pace, 14th Eastern Conference) 2.78 GAA

If Miller can return to his 70+ start form this team could be in a solid position.

This stat is so evident in this evenings game. Sabres come off a 6 game win streak with Miller, then we lose the one game we play with Lalime in net. Since they dropped him down to the minors then brought him back he has shaped up incredibly. They went into an 11 man deep shootout tonight.

I cant believe I havent been whoring this thread up. Ive caught all but about 3 of the Sabres games this year.

Are the Sharks for real this time? I really have no ****ing clue but until they (Yet again) prove otherwise I'll stay optimistic.

Wish we still had Biron as a back up, hell even Dwayne Roloson

Don't get your hopes up. Despite all evidence to the contrary the Sharks have been a "cup" team for the better part of the last decade. However they choose to fuck that up is up to them. Heatley or no.

My money is on Chicago this year, they got stiffed in the second round last year but they're definitely up for the long run this postseason. Although they probably need to unload Campbell or Seabrook by the trade deadline, they're way over cap limit for next year and losing either to waivers would be reprehensible for the presence they command.

Western Conference has been all fuxxed up again this season. Sharks right now would face Detroit in the first round. Yeah, that sounds promising... and don't look now, but it's 2009 redux- with Anaheim quietly on a roll, about ready to sneak in to a low seed again.

I'm thinking the Sharks lose to the Blackhawks in 6 in the conference finals. No 1 seeds beating 8 seeds this year.
