Generally speaking, it's a continental trait that's infected the English game over the years.
The Italians have it down to a fine art and actually practice 'simulation' and where a good dive that gets a penalty is admired.
Yeah I agree, I don't think you can say the english are just as bad at it. And that isn't me being biased. I'm Irish! The premiership has become bad for diving but a lot of that is down to the foreign influence that has come into the game. Italians are terrible at feigning injuries and I'd say Portugal are the worst for actual diving.

At least we can look forward to the BBC interrupting the emergency radio commentary they put up, to announce that due to technical problems we have no picture, followed shortly by another 5 minute announcement, declaring that the problem has now been fixed and we can return to the live match.

2-0 Russia, this may be wishful thinking...

Have you not been following this European championship? They're dropping like flies in the penalty area, everyone, every single team is doing it. This is an integral part of the game at this point. People are rolling on the ground in anguish after a mere touch only to get up as if nothing happened 2 minutes later (with a slight limp mind you, gotta make it believable because apparently they still think this is 1970 and we don't actually have 50 cameras that cover the pitch at every conceivable angle or instant slow motion playback including the big screens right on the stadiums). I don't know who started it first but it's here to stay and it's a little hypocritical to single out a single team as especially bad.

Edit: Case in point, Torres two seconds ago...

Was anyone listening to the ITV commentary there where he said someone had come out and said on the radio that they were joining Man Utd. Any idea what player he said?

You sound like you actually enjoy the cheating...

The number 18 Yuri Zhirkov.
Left back/left wing and can operate in the right back position too.
Plays for CSKA and he's known as the Russian Ronaldinho.

I guess i'm hoping for a Spain win overall then. Poor old Russia, but they were outplayed.

It was impossible to choose between the two by half time.
As the second half unfolded Russia seemed to lose heart and Spain played the ball around them as if they weren't there.
