Yes, because everybody knows stats make a quarterback better than another.

Yeah look at all the stats Romo has put up and passing records of Aikmans he's broken. Yet only 1 playoff win in how many years? I think Luck and RG3 are great QB's and will do great things in the NFL. Rg3 isn't that much better than Luck though imo.

I just think it's way to early to tell which one is "better". All I know is that we'll most likely be seeing Luck in the playoffs. The Redskins could make it but I doubt it. They're just not a balanced team with that defense playing the way it is.

I would still beg to differ. Luck has like four or five comeback wins to go along with his stats. Has RG3 come from behind to lead his team to a victory? That's not rhetorical I actually don't know.

I think RG3's biggest concern is whether he can stay healthy every year. Of course that's not guaranteed to anyone but I think in his case its even more of an issue. The dude is a competitor and wants to win, but at what point are you compromising not only your well being but the team that depends on you too. Questions that I'm sure have been raised and brought to his attention.

At the same time, RG3's stats are really inflated due to the type of offense he's in. It's kind of a gimmick offense full of options and short passes and the QB numbers shouldn't be looked at the same as under a more traditional offense. He does get off some long bombs to open receivers, but most of his passes are really short and he really relies on YAC a lot from his receivers. I think he's been WAY more sheltered than Luck, and he's getting much better support from the players around him. It's been a baptism by fire for Luck, and he's handled it very well.

It's kind of a toss-up for me about their performance this year, but I'd take Luck moving forward without batting an eye.

The conventional wisdom usually dictates you go with a strong armed pocket passer with a great ability to read defenses and make the adjustments. Luck is everything you could want in that type of passer. I think RG3 does have a gimmicky offense and his ability to run could cause him problems ala Vick if he doesn;t start taking the slide more often.

Personally I'd take either, but Luck is clearly the better overall quarterback in the long run if you're thinking conventional and looking for someone to be the face of your franchise for years to come. RG3 would scare me as a Redskins fan going forward because of his potential to have a career ending injury due to his careless running ability. Both are outstanding qb's but there is a reason all the pundits and owners/coaches agreed that Luck was the greatest qb prospect since Elway.

And it's not like Luck isn't a good athlete himself. He's got a lot of running ability himself. Nowhere near RG3's, but he can still get a lot done with his feet.

I tend to think his line is a little bit less refined at the moment also. And RG3 is getting a breakout year from Morris also to help carry the load. Luck is a tremendous athlete and he certainly can extend plays and get around the edge if need be.
