My football hot take is that the only reason they're called the Texans is that they knew it was their only shot at stealing local loyalty away from the Cowboys.

Tennessee bought the rights to the name the Oilers but changed it to the Titans but instead of giving the name back the Titans keep it just so they can claim the Oilers legacy which includes two championships that date back before the Super Bowl.
