afc seeds:

1 pats
2 steelers
3 colts
4 chiefs
5 ravens
6 jets

nfc seeds:

1 falcons
2 bears
3 eagles
4 seahawks(lol)
5 saints
6 packers

wild card round:

jets at colts - I'm certainly biased in this instance, but I feel like the colts have a shot at home. our D has has flipped the past few weeks from what it usually is good at(good run D, poor pass D). in addition, the colts haven't moved the ball that well since we lost collie. however, the jets D doesn't scare me that much and their offense is just so vanilla(I doubt sanchez can play as well as he did last january). I'm probably going against my better judgement here, but I will go with the colts.

ravens at chiefs - both of these teams are limping in. the experience factor heavily goes to the ravens, and I think it will be enough for them to get by the upstart chiefs. I expect a close game.

saints at seahawks - I can't take a losing team seriously for the playoffs. and I hear they are last in a ton of defensive categories.

packers at eagles - game of the weekend for sure. this one is going to be fun. I think this game will probably come down to which team has been hot lately, and that happens to be the pack. having said that, vick could just go wild and make me look bad. I will tentatively select the packers. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the winner of this game made the super bowl.

divisional round:

colts at steelers - this should be a good game. the offenses are close in quality, but the steelers D is so superior to the colts D. I'm hoping peyton can pull of some crazy shit.

ravens at pats - the ravens can't handle the juggernaut. don't forget the ravens knocked the pats out of the playoffs last year. not that that is the main motivation for the pats(their last super bowl appearance is).

saints at bears - I've no idea how the bears managed 11 wins this year. I don't think I watched one of their games this year, which could bode poorly for this pick. the saints have been fairly inconsistent, but I suspect they will be able to pressure cutler into some poor decisions.

packers at falcons - the falcons have been so solid all year long, but they run into the red hot packers here. I like rodgers more than ryan, and the pack D over the falcons unit.

conference championships:

steelers at pats - this is a tough one. the surprising factor that will win this game is the young pats D. they have been sorely overshadowed by the excellent play from their offense down the stretch of this season(past 5 weeks they have allowed: 3, 7, 27, 3, 7).

packers at saints - who woulda thought the 5 seeded saints would be at home for the NFC title? the pack have an elite defense. they also have a very good offense. the saints just seem above average in both categories. plus, fuck the saints, they beat my colts last year.

super bowl:

packers vs pats - as much as I want to pick the packers, I just can't do it. I hate the pats and have for a long time. but they probably have the best offense in football while having a fresh, young, talented, and smart defense. I will be rooting for the pats to prove me wrong.

I like your picks, excpet for the SB winner of course. You have to remember the Pats only beat GB by 4 in New England and the Pack had Matt Flynn starting his first game ever as QB. I certainly do hope you're ruight about the pack going to the big one though, that would be awesome.

Green Bay Motherfucking Packers FTW.

Playoffs

While your knowledge for football seems to be up to par. I have to ride out my picks from about week three in the season. Even though a couple of teams may make a fool of me. Reason being by week three. I knew my own favorite team was not going to make the run id hoped for. However I saw a promising looking Philly team. That even though plagued by injuries on the deffensive side of the ball. Have that electricfying mystique about them. Though the Falcons have the best record im just not sold on them. The Packers lack of a running game this time of year is their biggest downfall. As far as the AFC. Well ive been picking the Steelers since the beginning but never count out the Pats. They have shocked me with their uncanny ability to stay on top,and be dominant. So Eagles&Steelers are my picks.

My Picks

Steelers and the Eagles have been my picks. Though im a die hard Cowboy fan and it pains me to pick the Eagles. I know its also unthinkable to choose the Steelers over the Pats. They may very well win it all again. Im just sticking with my guns here. The Falcons and Pats kinda came out nowhere this year in terms of expectations.

The Jets road to the Superbowl looks something like @Indy, @New England, @Pittsburgh... and that's just to make the damn thing. Possibly the 3 toughest road games in the NFL. Better luck next year boys.

I feel too many games this year were decided by bad calls and this has become a tainted season. I'll take the underdog in whichever games Hochuli is reffing.

I hear ya..The game is changing for what I feel is leaning towards the wussy side of things. Players having to change their whole tackling techniques they have been taught from a tot. Thats one rule I dont like. I mean to an extent I could see it but it got out of hand this year. I mean James Harrison got fined over a 100 thou this year!! Other than that really I can live with most of the other changes. No force outs, showing posession all the way through a catch now in the end zone" Calvin Johnson" That call was a little dicey for sure. The only other thing that does annoy me is the lack of being able to celebrate. Football is a game of emotion. I enjoy the dances and what not mainly because so many people dont. The uptight im never down for fun of any kind types. I dont care how they justify it doesnt hurt anything as long as its not overexcessive. Most people that never had a spec of athletic ability are the ones gunning for this rule. With some humorless yuppies sprinkled in. Still its a game I love and admire. I just wish my team would get their stuff together. Oh and thank God Farve is retiring!!

Yeah, that pussifying of football along with that CJ play are atop my list of shit calls as well. The other thing is how so many games were decided on poor spotting of the ball. I saw numerous occasions where teams got stuffed on 3rd and short but were giving the first down, and thus taking away the opportunity for the other team to run a two minute drill.

Bloozcrooz 01-05-2011 08:57 AM

Thats just all out blown calls there. You could never prove it but you know some of those refs either theirselves, or someone they know. Has big money on some of those games. No telling how many times a ball has been spotted just shy or the opposite. Just to keep the spread right. But overall I think they do ok. Tough job to have. Also very easy to set back and criticize for us. Things are movin at such a high speed out there.

debaserr 01-05-2011 09:55 AM

I completely disagree with the notion that the sudden illegality of helmet to helmet blows is considered the "pussifying of the sport". that shit is serious.

and why can't we get a chip in the ball that determines the spot?
