You're being a little naive to think that USC would run over Florida. They did lose to Oregon State, who is good, but doesn't even come close to Florida.

And Florida lost to Ole Misss, who are good...I don't think it would be a blowout or anything, just that USC would handle them not easily, but close to it.

USC is just as fast. Look at the WR/CB positions in particular. Just to clear things up, I actually hate USC, I'm a Cal fan.

Those are last years rosters.

The Florida roster that won the championship.

I'm a Texas fan. I try not to be too much of a homer though, everything I've said is my honest opinion.

They're still relevant on the whole.

Against Oklahoma, not USC.

It's the USC roster that didn't play in the title game. What's the disconnect here?

...
How is USC, in your mind, going to lose a popularity contest?
I mean, I agree with you. Utah wasn't there.
But that's your reasoning behind USC not being there??? One of the most popular, tradition laden schools in NCAA football?

Er, they don't play in the SEC maybe? The perceived weakness of the Pac-10 and the West Coast in general?

And you act like playing in a shitty conference, and you can't compare pac-10 to SEC, is some minor detail. They both lost to decent teams, Florida by a point, USC by a TD if memory serves correct. Other than that, Florida went undefeated through the SEC, USC did it in the Pac-10. Florida absolutely deserved the nod to go to the championship.
