I have a very rigorous workout routine:

4-6 hours of twelve ounce wrist curls roughly 3-4 times a week

multiple reps of tobacco breath exercises for endurance

and roughly 4-6 minutes of sex every 1-2 weeks whether I need it or not


It's not for everybody but I'm hella ripped (for at least the 3-4 days a week)

When you work out you need a reason for going. Using the " I want to get in better shape " or " It wouldnt be bad to lose a couple of pounds" never works.

Here are some reasons I've seen people continiously go to the gym for.

#1 They are addicted, going to the gym releases endorphins which makes people happy.

#2 Wanting to impress the opposite sex

#3 Having to train for a sport, work or a long endurance trip such as hiking, canoeing or rock climbing.

#4 Surround yourself with people who are also into fitness. For most this is hard because if they arent already into fitness then it most likely means alot of people around them arent either. For this online has millions of forums with like minded people that will help you.

I find it really helps that you understand what each muscle does and how to give it the right food to grow.

To add to that, once you start going for a while consistantly and then start seeing changes in your body, thats when its super easy to keep going on a regular basis. Its a great feeling to see the benefits you've done to your body.

I've just started going back to the gym intenseley with a mate whose been doing it for about 5 years now, and everything is startign to sieze up.

Just come back from a stint on a friends exercise bike and considering I have'nt been on a bike for a while I done OK. 7 miles in 20 minutes . Combine that with some weight work later on and this should get me back in shape if I carry on with this twice a week. I'm running at 168 lbs and for 5'6" that's a little too much (although I carry it quite well) so if i can drop to about 160 I will be pleased as punch.

Never seen a thread like this on a forum honestly, but it's awesome!

I try to do an hour of cardio daily, and I want to take up cardio kickboxing or even brazilian jiu jitsu... I lift weights 3 times a week, also do a lot of cycling! Currently trying to reach a goal of curling 40lbs (10 reps). But it seems to go by so slowly! So I might go on a really strict diet and take protein shakes daily.. or something. :p

I work as a pt so my advice is carry heavy weights in a rucksack with you when you walk.
Also walk up and down the stairs alot and drink lots of water.
this is if you are very unfit as suddenly running will mean over training and sickness.
I reccomend carrying a rucksack with weight in it and just take regular walks until your walks become fast enough to turn into a light run.
Noone is always motivated to do anything in life and exercise is not sudden but throughout your days.
Just keep active and drink lots of water and fluid even though you urinate more as this will help you shed weight.
For those who used to be fit or need to get back simply run round the block time yourself and go slightly better each time and keep it simple and also carry weights when you walk.
