Donte Stallworth killed a human being and he has a chance to play in the NFL this year

Mike Vick killed dogs, served two years in jail for it, and he still might be disallowed to play this season

I think there may be "morals clauses" in some contracts and if someone breaches their contract by getting convicted of a felony and/or brings negative attention to the sport they can be released.

Stallworth ****ing killed a guy, and is walking with 30 days. Thats the point. Vick was never directly found guilty of ever even taking part in any of the 'events', they just happened on his property. Your veiwpoint is clouded with ignorance and propaganda. Please check your facts and try again.

Wrong. Vick admitted in court personally killing by hanging, drowning and electrocution of the dogs that were injured or "under performed".He denied everything until he realized he was caught. He lied to the investigators and got caught perjuring himself, he failed a drug screen while he was out on bond.

Stallworth stopped immediately, called the police and (stupidly) admitted he had been drinking. He accepted responsibility and recognized what he did was wrong and pleaded guilty.The guy is still dead, though.

The commissioner of the NFL wrote about Vick:

"You have engaged in conduct detrimental to the welfare of the NFL and have violated the league's personal conduct policy," Goodell told Vick"
Stallworth will soon hear the same words.

That's a morals clause.

Stallworth won't be playing in the NFL. Same reason.


Neither of these guys should be playing.Neither ever will again.

The point is they should play again. Both of these guys accepted what they did, and are willing to do whatever they can to make it right. I'm not even a Vick fan, in fact I've hated him most of his career, but christ let him come back already. Stallworth is getting off way too easy for his crime. Bottom line, people are way too up in arms about animals, and the legal system is all up on their ****s about it.

I disagree, though, because I think, even though it's show business, they have acted in an uncivilized and immoral way..both of them...and since it is such a high profile occupation that is based on a GAME that most children play, watch on TV and are familiar with they should be (and are) held to different standards than joe the carpenter.

Well, I think if they can't control themselves and lie about it, then they aren't qualified to govern other people and they can't be trusted.

Of course we all fall short, but there has to be some sort of minimum standards upheld by the NFL.If people get the perception that it's a bunch of thugs and gangstas the revenue will decline...and it's all about perception...and money...

Yes he was. Where are you getting your info? He plead guilty to dog fighting charges in the state of Virginia and in return had the charge of animal cruelty dropped.

Ahhh touche hadn't paid much attention to the state charges, which seemed to go on forever in a day with his attorneys trying to get it done early. Had to plead guilty to one count. Regardless, the time of his "indefinite" suspension was before that conviction.

Ta hell with the nay-sayers. Vick is back. I can't wait to see what hee looks like in his probationary pre-season games. Assuming sometems actually start showing interest in him. He wasn't being looked at last I heard. Anybody know anything?
