I've only ever been ice fishing. I was visiting a friend of mine who lives up North, wayyyy up north, in Yellowknife, one year and her family invited me on an ice fishing trip. We were out there all day in -30 C or so temperatures and we didn't catch anything, but it was so much fun. The whole thrill for me was the risk of falling through the ice!

I was fishing with my cousing with live shrimp last night. He caught a squid and that thing started inking all over the place. We hooked him onto a larger hook with a leader, but caught nothing. We then, sliced him up, caught a couple sheephead, and angelfish, and a ray.

*raises thread from the dead*

I need to replace the piece of **** reel that came with my rod. It'll be for lakefishing for bass and crappie, mostly. Any recommendations for reels under $100?

Going fishing on Friday and I'm pretty excited for it. Going to a lake with crappie, (huge) bass, trout, catfish, and bluegill and your smaller whatever fish.

I have some of these jigs that I'm going after the bass with and I'm pretty sure it'll get something in the lake I'm going to. It's had some world record bass catches.

Probably going to catch a lot of trout at the end of the day. Doing a marshmallow and worm trick where the marshmallow floats the worm, I'll see how that goes. Also gonna pick up some minnows for crappie and mackerel for catfish just to see if I can get anything but I'm hoping to get some material for my mask replicas.

Any good tips for bass, trout, or catfish? I think I'll be out a little too early for catfish but tips for them and crappie are welcome.
