Rooney may have been advised to do certain things, but I think Rooney wanted the wage packet. And I don't think he cared where he got it.
Why would he be advised to say the club lacked ambition?
I believe he wanted more money, and he dressed up that fact by saying he wanted to go for football reasons - ambition.
But we'll never know for sure.
I just hope Fergie, has gone that extra mile for him and it will pay off.

I wonder if he's been promised signings.

He was upset true enough. Upset because he knew that by leaving the door open there was still a chance he wouldn't take it.
He was upset because he knew that's all he was going to offer the lad.

I think Ferguson has money to spend, despite what the media would have us believe.
There was money for the summer, but according to Ferguson he wasn't getting value, so didn't spend.
If money is spent on a big player signing in January the press are bound to say it's because of Rooney and the contract issue.
Make no mistake...only one man makes decisions about who to buy and when to buy and it isn't Wayne Rooney!
