Haaaa.

So a botched screen proves your point? He's completing 65% of his passes and only one or two were for 25 yards or more. One of them was probably a screen to Harvin too. I can't pretend to remember every play of every game, but I can do math. Most of the completions are screens, slants and flats, so there you go. It's actually not that hard to realize Ponder needs work on deep passing.

I'm saying he still can't make baby passes. Stats are inflated. If ponder throws poorly while the defenses play's press coverage for the first 3 quarters, and then throws good while the defense is playing prevent in the 4th,it's not really indicative of anything. Ponder threw like 150 of his yards in garbage time last week, when defenses weren't pressing him. Stats don't mean ****, look at that video and tell me he's good at throwing the short pass.

Dude you're tripping. Defenses only play prevent vs passers who can go over the top, and even then, not in tight games or when the other team is winning.

If you're saying Ponder's only successful vs prevent defense, then we must have faced prevent D a lot during the first 5 weeks.

huh? they play prevent when they know the team is only going to be passing, like when the vikings are in the 4th quarter and down by 3 touchdowns.

Look at the redskins or tampa bay game. Ponder got most of his yards passing in the 4th quarter, when teams switched to prevent to...well prevent a long touchdown pass.

Usually teams have their safeties lined up at the line of scrimmage against the vikings(first 3 quarters) because a. we have a.p, and b, because ponder can't throw it deep. This has effectively shut down our passing game, until they back off and leave some room in the middle.

The first five weeks don't mean a whole heckuva lot in football. Look at the cardinals, they went 5-0, but some adjustments made by opposing defenses and they haven't won since. They may not have played safeties close in those first 5 games, but harvin was doing everything. Ponder was throwing it timelier too, not necessarily more accurate. He got bailed out in the endzone by rudolph, but teams have adjusted.

I'll concede that a depleted reciever core(who have been poor with their route running) has a lot to do with, but ponder struggles throwing the ball anywhere, right now.

KIEKIE, we are talking about MINNESOTA VIKINGS. Not the Vikings you want us to speak about.

What ever happened to Harvin's migraines? It's awesome that he hasn't even been on the injury report at all this year (knock on wood).
