Much troll... and basically the problem with every anti-eSports person in this thread. Can't back up your side of the argument, so you troll or pretend like the discussion is over since you're too proud to admit defeat. I'm not dense, I understand the obvious differences in physical exertion in football versus a video game. That doesn't change the fact the by definition you have no ground to stand on for arguing that esports =/= sports. You're the one that brought definitions into this.

You can go back to rustling my jimmy now. Please don't leave me with blueballs.

Still interested in the intensity and skills required for CAD, if you feel like being serious again.

My issue with the whole argument is that a sport is a nebulous concept to begin with, likely created by people who weren't particularly concerned with the specific definition of what constitutes a sport. I imagine it was so many people who decided what a sport is that trying to actually define it is pointless. It's probably like porn.

I don't know how to describe it, but I know it when I see it. Professional Counter Strike players don't seem like athletes to me, but their skill level is just as high as a professional basketball player (theoretically). I really don't think it matters what constitutes a sport. It's such a bull**** term that figuring out what exaclty it means is pointless and accomplishes nothing.

I mostly agree, but as an avid gamer and someone who played sports through high school I find it fun to debate.

Which is why (as I've been saying), esports should be their own category. In due time it'll probably get its own damn dictionary definition. It requires entirely different sets of skills and talents than physical sports.

You're quite passionate about this, so I'll give you a proper definition of what I consider a "Sport". An activity that requires full motion of the human body. Certainly more than just using your fingers, as was evident in my definition citing that it was not eSports.

As for CAD, for my situation, I get bid proposals from FEMA, and State funding organizations that have extremely small windows of opportunity, so I have to sometimes create complex 3D models, as well as floor by floor blueprints along with foundation requirements, as well as elevations, electrical schematics, load calculations, detail drawings, and civil drawings in sometimes as little as 1 day (8 hours), and it's quite physically and mentally exhausting at times to be able to do this, especially when the proposal requires an extremely large structure. I've been doing CAD for 25 years, so I am conditioned to be able to handle the tasks required to be able to effectively and professionally convey the proposed facilities to the clients in a timely manner.

Hope that satisfies what you're looking to get out of me. I gotta run.

The debate I intended to spark from that article I posted was less about definitions and more about whether or not ESPN should show coverage of it. I mean they do poker tournaments as well as eating competitions and those don't seem to make anyone bat an eye, but suddenly it's a video game and people on Twitter lose their shit. Granted it's Twitter and people on it will lose their shit over any perceived grievance, regardless of how trivial it is. I just thought it was kind of a cool leap forward for the medium and it's impact on popular culture as well as the types of games out there.

Pretty simple explanation to me: fat rednecks like sports, eating, and gambling, but they do not like video games.

If I like sports, eating, gambling, AND video games what does that make me?
