Denmark aren't a bad side, but they're on for 100/1 in some places, which shows you how good this group will be.
I expect Holland the Germans to advance though.
Portugal's frailties at the back will show through.

Its a good match so far and now even more interesting that Denmark have scored and are leading. The Dutch seem to look a bit lightweight up front and either Kuyt or Huntelaar should come on to suport Van Persie better. Robben's finishing is about as poor as it was in the Champions League final.

Robben's still a quality player, everything apart from his finishing has been sublime today.
I'm hoping he scores next, got a bet on it at 7/1.
Kuyt isn't much of a hitman, he's more of a hold-up player, Huntelaar would be a good shout.

You're right, it has been a good game to watch thus far, and maybe Denmark can spring a surprise.

Well they have and the best sight of the whole game was Robben sitting down at the end shaking his head........as he did after the Champions League final

It was a great result, as this means that Holland now have to get a result against Germany in their next match, Holland v Germany is still the biggest match in European football.

As a Dutchman, I'm afraid I'll have to admit that our national team has a player with thew Down Syndrome. Van Persie did such an awful, awful job on this one.

Germany and Portugal aren't doing too well either though, I'm hoping for a draw. Then again, I was pessimistic from the beginning, I don't expect Holland to do anything. Portugal will proceed anyways.

If they're going to have any chance, they need to beat Croatia tomorrow, if they do that they could get a draw against Italy and squeeze through, but I doubt they will and expect them to come home before England.

Second half of Germany and Portugal was great, especially after Mario Gomez scored, Portugal as they always do lack a great centre forward and again paid the price for that, despite that they look a good team and this group is hotting up to be the best.

Big matches tomorrow are Croatia v Ireland and the really big one Spain v Italy.

Yeah, the streets of Ireland will be totally deserted tomorrow evening. It'll be like that ad during one of the World Cups, where yer man realises there's no-one at all on the roads and he can go flying along in his supercar undisturbed. Loved that one.

Not that I condone speeding at any time, you understand.

Hey, they've done so well to even get to the finals that they're gonna get a heroes' welcome, even if they get knocked out early. But here's hoping for a few favours from the gods of football...

Another exciting day from Group C as I knew it would be.

Spain v Italy: Spain starting without a striker! and Balotelli nearly blowing his top! 1-1 was a fair result.

Croatia v Ireland: Croatia pass the ball so well and always have great players, it seems they also have the cutting edge and the grit to go with it, could be outsiders along with Russia to win. Ireland were up against a team that was better in all areas and did as well as they could, they're in such a hard group.
