I thought Michael Johnson did a great job, easily the best of the pundits they had.

I liked it during the 10,000 metres final when they showed the whole studio cheering Mo Farah and Johnson was there cheering on Galen Rupp

I loved that footage. It was really nice to see what the "professional" BBC team of pundits were doing while the rest of us were going absolutely mental.

I REALLY hate John Inverdale.

He reminds me of a slimy boss that ignores all the male employees and tries to be every female employees best friend.

Haha yeah, there was a lot of hate for John during the games. I was tweeting about the Olympics every 2 seconds (I'm just that cool) and reading a lot of tweets during the games too and there was a lot of hate for him.

Did you see this, Urban? Its one of many BBC VTs during the games that left me absolutely speechless. This particular one was about the pressure of being the "face of the games", narrated by Michael Johnson. Its streamed from the BBC website so will only work for those in the UK. Also the Olympics always provides great stories. Whether it be of personal triumph, overcoming odds or tragedy or of just sheer acts of strength or dedication. None more so, in my opinion, at these games than Manteo Mitchell.

Yes the Basketball final was broadcast live in the US. However, i am currently in Germany, and only saw snippets as the Handball Gold Medal game took priority. I like Handball, but really??

From what i understand the Basketball game was quite exciting. I have to give Spain a lot of credit. They deserved to be in the Championship game. At least from what I was able to follow with constant online updates.

Every time I turned on NBC they seemed to be showing water polo or volleyball.

The b-ball game was pretty good, but the US completely stepped it up and separated themselves from Spain in the 4th. Paul in particular looked great. Loved how the entire team lined up to hug Gasol at the end.

What was the coverage like in other countries? Was it good? Did you have much control over what you watch?

The coverage here was spectacular. The BBC, switching between BBC1 and BBC2, had coverage from 6am (the normal Breakfast show but with a round-up of the events from the previous day, bringing medalists on as guests etc), picking up the action as it started and going through all the way until 22:00 where they would then have a highlights show on until midnight. Also BBC3 was showing Olympics all day too, offering some of the events that the other two channels werent showing. However, behind the red button on digital was coverage of literally every single event throughout the day for you to pick and choose from and you could also access this on their website, their mobile site and their mobile app.

As I said, incredible coverage from the BBC.

Coverage was awesome here. Of course the Canadian channel CTV was showing it (next time it will be CBC though) and they did a damn good job not only featuring events with Canadians, but also featuring other events.

Because I live close to the border, I get American channels too - NBC was showing the Olympics and they did a great job as well. I also get channels from other time zones and regions in Canada and the US (time shifting I think it's called), so I could have watched it all 24/7 pretty much, if I so desired :laughing:
