Yeah, and then he lit him up later on.

**** that, at least make sure you don't give up the jack. At least win the game when you do that.

butthead aka 216 08-20-2013 07:51 AM

i love beanball wars

the ump handled it terribly. girardi handled it amazing. so did arod.

the hypocricy of sox fans is hilarious when ortiz is a roid user and so was manny who was a huge key to their great teams and world series

but i also understand that fanhood isnt logical and hypocricy exists in many forms

Are you ****ting me?

A-Rod ratted on others to try and save himself. It has nothing to do with his steroid use, it's because he's just a massive piece of ****.

what part of my post are you even attacking???

i said earlier in this thread, arod is the most disliked athlete in the world. ive never liked him since his seattle days

here is something cool to easily check out the payrolls of different teams through the years and money committed in current contracts going forward

butthead aka 216 08-26-2013 01:04 PM

-drafted in first round out of highschool

Growing up in Portland, the first summer I ever spent listening to radio broadcasts of MLB on a daily basis was listening to Jimmy Dudley (and soon-to-be Hall-Of-Fame broadcaster for the Portland TrailBlazers, Bill Schonely) call the Seattle Pilots games in 1969. The next season they moved to Milwaukee.

The only Brewers team I really liked was the 1982 "Harvey's Wallbangers" of Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Cecil Cooper, Gorman Thomas, and crew that went to the World Series against the Cardinals. That was the beginnings of my hate for the baseball Cardinals, which became carved into granite in '85 against the Royals and fossilized against the Giants in '87

Oh, and I saw on this thread that there was a lot of support from AL fans to make the entire league DH-friendly... well, I think that is serious garbage. AL and DH is some serious BS. It takes all the strategy out of the game. I love watching pitchers hit... do they drop a bunt down? Do they pull it back and take a hack at it? Yovani Gallardo is a legit threat at the plate. He is a career batter of .207 with 12 HR and 40 RBI in only 353 at bats. Most players get about 450 at bats a season... so if he were a position player, you would be talking 17-18 HR a year and maybe 55-60 RBI... at least, considering his at bats come every fifth day.

I didn't see much if ANY support for the NL going DH, most, myself included, liked the way it is now, DH in the AL and pitchers hitting for themselves in the NL. I understand your argument but there's an argument *for* the DH too. That the two leagues have different rules is one of the thousands of unique qualities that makes baseball such a beautiful game.

u been to any games this year? fellow pitt guy here. the atmosphere in north shore is amazing when theres a game. so much energy. i remember earlier in the season, the pirates were rolling but i think a lot of ppl were skeptical still and the stands werent packed yet. somewhere along the line, maybe around june or whenever cole came up, we started sellin out games and its become really fun

for those not following, pirates traded my mets for marlon byrd and john buck. good trade for both. buccos got a starting caliber outfielder and a major league catcher which their hurt backup was not. mets got victor black who i think can be a great reliever and a 2B prospect who was 20th in the pirates organization at the beginning of the year and was now 11thish

traded nothing basically and got morneau from the twins too.

love the moves for the pirates. they got better without depleting the farm system for someone like stanton. one of the few teams that are 1. one of the best teams and 2. have one of the best farm systems
