Glad to see Brazilian Ronaldo so high. I was watching his old videos at PSV, Barca and Inter before the World Cup started & I think had he not had those injuries, he would have been the best ever.

Things still worked out OK for him I guess though.

Messi would still have been ahead of him but maybe he would have surpassed Pele/Maradona.

Hart vs Pirlo - YouTube

Love that . Ball boys take the piss at times, you don't see them time wasting when Brazil need a goal.

Fantastic world cup so far. Really surprised and disappointed by Brasil, Argentina and Spain, but otherwise a brilliant tournament. England were pretty poor but I've taken to expecting that.

Remember being critical of Brazil & Spain . Spain exceeded even my expectations .

There is something very enjoyable about watching the top dogs get humbled and they've been humiliated in this WC, worst defence of a WC ever. Wonder what odds you'd have got on Spain to be the first team eliminated?

I thought we played quite well really (relative to how England teams usually play) and actually attacked, Roy kept to his word that we would risk defeat to play attacking football. No problem with that.

Ronaldo is out btw.

Time for our most important player to step up, Dr. Steve Peters - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...medium=twitter

In short, this is the exact sort of situation for which Professor Steve Peters, England’s sports psychiatrist, was invited into "Camp England”.
Quote:
Regardless of results, it is certainly difficult to look at this England squad and not sense a rather happier and more balanced outlook than in previous World Cup finals. The fear of failure, a mentality that seemed to entwine with the eras of Sven Goran Eriksson, Steve McClaren and Fabio Capello, is far less identifiable.
Quote:
Peters’s priority will be to ensure that the minds of the players do not become preoccupied with such catastrophic thoughts.
“You want to build from the positives and the great thing about the first game, even in defeat, is that there were plenty of positives,” says Barton.
“They were playing the football that they wanted. You look to make tweaks but you don’t focus excessively on the faults.
Do your thing Stevie P.

There were some good (and bad) individual English performances but the teamplay wasn't great. I felt we moved the ball too slowly and were too predictable, you could tell where most England passes were headed before they were made and that's not clever when trying to unlock the Italian defense.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Fair enough. Hyped for this. I'm not predicting anything as it won't be objective .

I would like to see Ross Barkley start.

& people keep mentioning how good Chile's national anthem was and how the players & fans were going for it, we really need to get rid of GSTQ. I actually hate it, I don't know anyone who likes it & I'm glad our players don't sing it.
