I've just realised it still has a game in hand for Spurs and a few others. That can't be right.

Cuthbert 04-15-2013 01:58 PM

Ah, you had Stoke 17th. Ideally would like them to go down.

I'd take that table.

Mojo 04-15-2013 02:12 PM

I think Wigan might be too far in it now. I only have Stoke to pick up two more points and it still hasn't been enough to get them in the bottom three.

I knew Wigans run-in was bad but it seems so much worse to me now.

Newkie 04-15-2013 04:20 PM

Norwich 42
Sunderland 40
Newcastle 38
Villa 38
Wigan 37
Stoke 36

Feck. Way too close for my liking.

Trollheart 04-21-2013 05:12 AM

Mojo, some killer results! Looks like DiCanio may be the man for you after all. Well done! Specially in the derby... :thumb:

Goofle 04-21-2013 09:10 AM

Fuck off spurs you cunts

Trollheart 04-21-2013 09:14 AM

Um, that DOES say "luck" on her shirt, doesn't it... ;)

She just spelled "cook" wrongly. Get back in the kitchen woman.

Cuthbert 04-21-2013 10:14 AM

Spurs winning today is a bad result for us tbh. United are going to come out all guns blazing tomorrow to seal the title and I think we need something from the game.

Those 2 points against Fulham :(

p.s. Words cannot express how much I hate Stoke.

Suarez getting tucked in.

Cuthbert 04-21-2013 05:16 PM

That's a disgrace. Such a scummy footballer. Comparing it to what Cantona did as well, Jesus Christ.

Yeah well Man U were gonna come out all guns blazing no matter what. This is their "win the title" game: think they're gonna let us stand in their way? Would be nice to cause an upset, but given the current situation I'd say we'll be lucky to get away with nil! Hope we score though, get a point and move a little further out of trouble.
If we could somehow win, we kick QPR and Reading into the Championship, which has to give us a fighting chance. You never know...

I think had City won and postponed number 20 for a week then their team might have got complacent but it'll be a carnival atmosphere at OT tomorrow night.

Priority has to be to avoid a thrashing ala Chelsea 8-0 as that could have a really big effect on the team. An early goal for us could make it very tense though. Think Gabby's back as well.

I want to put some money on a United win to soften the blow but the odds are so short.

Another horrific performance this week, i'm about ready to slit my wrists.

This is the table now. Felt like a child high on fizzy pop when that equaliser went in in the Spurs game. As a result we are now 2 points ahead of Wigan instead of level but in the relegation zone on GD.

Beat Sunderland tomorrow and we drag Newcastle right in it.

Each game is getting more tense. I can't take this anymore.

Trollheart 04-29-2013 08:30 AM

Sick Benteke didn't get young player of the year: I know Bale is great but giving both awards to him just seems like a combination of laziness and lickassery. Why did he need to get both? There were plenty of other candidates.

Scotsman vs Italian tonight! Gaah! My fingers are bitten down to the bone (nails went a long time ago...)

Newkie 04-29-2013 02:46 PM

Well, this is villa safe then. Always thought they had too much quality to go down and rated Lambert. Actually think this makes the toon favorites to go down, harder fixtures than both sunderland and villa (imo) as Carroll and Nolan are going to want to smash us.

And with Villa safe I can see Wigan grabbing 3 points on the last day of the season as Villa will have nowt to play for..**** sake.

Cuthbert 04-29-2013 03:50 PM

Evening lads :)

Trollheart 04-29-2013 04:34 PM

Woo-hoo!!! SIX EFFING ONE!!! Come on the Villa! Never expected THAT scoreline!

Sky Sports News: Benteke destroys Sunderland! Ooooooh yeeeahhhhh!!!!
Get in!
:tramp:

Cuthbert 04-29-2013 04:51 PM

That makes up for Bradford tbh. Benteke will be gone soon.

Trollheart 04-29-2013 05:03 PM

Always one to see the cloud in the silver lining, eh Fluff? ;) Let's just enjoy it while it's there shall we? Chances are he will be gone but let's hope he can keep us in the top tier before he heads off to Man U or Arsenal or wherever. Good players never stay at Villa (cough) Dwight Yorke! (cough) :(

jackhammer 04-29-2013 05:42 PM

Up the Villa is all I can say. Amazing result.

I do think he'll leave within the next 3 years but if he does leave it will be after the World Cup provided we stay up. Lambert has basically said Weimann and Benteke aren't going anywhere and with the World Cup coming up he'd be a fool to move when he's guaranteed a place here.

He made a mockery of the POTY awards tonight. Just lol at giving them out when the season hasn't finished. Definite YPOTY.

Mojo 04-30-2013 07:48 AM

Fully deserved.

Everything we have had in Di Canios first three games we were lacking at Villa Park. That's as bad and unorganised a performance as any under MoN or Bruce.

I would have been happy with a point there. I was more confident about the derby and am more confident about Stoke and Southampton at home than I was about Villa away and getting beat there isn't anything to be ashamed of. I am however ashamed of the nature of the defeat, the severity of it and the quality of performance, which was absolutely dire.

That said, I think I care more about Sessegnon missing the last three games. I doubt an appeal will get us what we want, but I'm really not having that that was a red card. Plus without Sessegnon and Fletcher, and with Wickham currently injured (hopefully will be back by next Monday, for an option at least) we're left with one striker, who doesn't score goals.

Trollheart 04-30-2013 12:31 PM

I do feel for you. mojo. The only thing that diminishes my joy is that it was your guys we beat. But still... WHAT A RESULT! :tramp: I thought DiCanio did well in his interview, though you could see he was furious: I mean, the last two goals, just given away. I also agree that I don't think it was a red card, very harsh and most unwelcome when you're doing your best to avoid the drop.

Of course, we're not safe either yet, but our goal defecit has been all but wiped out and I think we have a really good chance now. I just hope it's not at your expense.

Goofle 04-30-2013 12:41 PM

I just want Newcastle down. Make it happen.

Big Ears 04-30-2013 12:50 PM

With Reading and Wigan facing the drop, it looks like Saints will stay up. It's ironic really as Reading initially seemed the most likely to survive.

Um, Reading are already relegated...? It's Sunderland, Newcastle, Wigan and Norwich now I think. Plus us, if we're stupid and get complacent in the last few games....

Cuthbert 05-04-2013 08:31 AM

Watching the game.

Liverpool fans will pay tribute to Everton for support over Hillsborough with Kop mosaic ahead of derby | Mail Online

Liverpool giving a 'tribute' to Everton for Everton's 'tribute' to Hillsborough, it's never going to end. Self pity city. My God I hate the Scouse, grieving twats.

Cuthbert 05-04-2013 08:32 AM

Baggies winning!

Cuthbert 05-04-2013 09:13 AM

1-0 Villa!

Baggies just scored as well ffs :D

I know mate, keeping an eye on it all. Spurs and Southampton playing now and the Saints look pretty good.

Haha, thought it was bants tbh.

Who do you think is gonna go down now with QPR and Reading? Wigan winning today means if results go as I predict they will (draw at home to Chelsea and that's being optimistic, Wigan winning at home vs Swansea but losing away to Arsenal), we'll be 3 points ahead on the final day (Wigan away) and will need something there because the goal difference will be, at best, 1 in our favour over Wigan.

Also I was gonna post it in the European thread, you called it right with Mourinho. You seen his 'rant' ffs :D It's like something Benitez would do.

Goofle 05-04-2013 10:05 AM

Mourinho is a massive idiot tbh.
