You certainly did. Especially the first half. Closed United down quickly and took the game to us.

No they weren't!
After taking the game to United, Wigan shut up shop and tried to consolidate and protect what they had...suicide.
Again...the only way to play United is to attack. United probably have the most experienced players in the world in dealing with teams that choose the defensive option.
When I see a team prepared to attack United from the off I pray to God they score early. Gives us so much more time to reverse the scoreline.

It's the definition of asking for trouble when a team tries to defend a 1 goal lead - it just invites an equaliser and then a complete collapse, and I still don't know why the hell teams do it as it never bloody works (after years of watching Sven's England it's something you get used to though).

Anyway, congratulations on another title. It'll take just about the most unlikely turn of events in the next weeks to stop your lot now.

Yep. 1 point from the last 2 games to be precise, but it's not over yet.
Arsenal are a potential banana skin, but Hull should be a banker. :D

18 Titles........and thats a fact :thumb:

Congrats to the red scum. Another predicatable season again and with the news of Laursen's retirement and Barry probably going we probabaly wont challenge next year either.

Will Tevez and Ronaldo stay though I wonder?

right-track 05-17-2009 04:01 PM

I'd love Tevez to stay, but if United can't blag his agent to lower the asking fee, I'd let him go.
For all his commitment £30 million is too much for a player like Tevez.
I'd rather buy a more prolific scorer for that kind of money.

As for Ronaldo...if he leaves for Madrid in the summer, then he's even a bigger pillock than I already gave him credit for.
Let's see...World and European player of the year. English player and top scorer of the year. English championship medal 3 years running. World club winners medal and the possibility of adding a second consecutive European Champions League winners medal in Rome within the next 10 days.
Why on earth would he want to leave and play for a bobbins, second rate football team like GetReal Madrid!?

jackhammer 05-17-2009 04:06 PM

Because he has a collosal ego unfortunately. I genuinely say to sell him if you can get them to pay 70 mill. You are still very strong with what you have.

As for Tevez. It must just be the asking price and you can tell it's that greedy bastard agent angling for as much cash as possible for his backburner. 30 mill is a little too high.

But then again you could put it the other way around & say there's nothing left for him to achieve with Man Utd having done pretty much everything. The only thing left for you to do after all that is do it again with the team you've always wanted to play for.

He's still young with the world at his feet. Plenty of time to do that.
He gets frustrated playing for United...imagine what he's going to be like in a team full of overpaid premadonnas.
I actually agree with Lee. Better for him to go, if that's what the boy wants.
He could do with a dose of bringing back down to earth.
Trouble is, unlike Lee says...I think we'd miss him.

jackhammer 05-17-2009 04:21 PM

Get rid of him then Rooney can kick the crap out of him at the world cup next year!
