BBC SPORT | Football | Premier League | Wigan 3-1 Overpaid Primadonnas

:tramp:

I do believe a piss-up is now on the cards...

zeppy111 09-26-2009 10:14 AM

They certainly deserved it. Dodgey decisions from the ref/refs all game. Wigan could easily have put away a few more goals though

Bulldog 09-26-2009 10:17 AM

Definitely. But still, it's not every day we beat a top 4 team. It's only taken 5 years of being in the Prem for us to do it anyway. As for Cech's red, that challenge was so late the ref must have instinctively booked Paul Ince as well.

But bloody hell, what a performance!

Piss Me Off 09-26-2009 10:42 AM

About time Chelsea have been punished for being shakey, i thought there'd be another late goal for them and they'd steal 3 points in the end again but it wasn't to be. Meanwhile Norwich managed to save a point as well so a pretty good afternoon!

zeppy111 09-26-2009 01:49 PM

Any chance of Ipswitch avoiding relegation? Even though it is early days, I have heard they have been really terrible.

My side, naturally :)

Mojo 09-26-2009 05:08 PM

They were absolutely dreadful today. Steve Harper had virtually nothing to do all afternoon, it was way too easy for Newcastle.

I'll save any comments i have for when we see each other in league one :)

zeppy111 09-26-2009 10:59 PM

That doesn't sound good at all. ****e!

Bulldog 09-27-2009 05:20 AM

I can't believe what a pig's ear Keano's making out of that Ipswich job. I reckon his sacking's more or less a forgone conclusion now.

Mojo 09-28-2009 08:04 AM

Thats if he doesnt walk out first.

Dwight Yorke has claimed in his book that when Keano walked out of the Sunderland job he texted him to say he was sorry for the way things worked out and the reply he got said simply "Go fuck yourself!"

Piss Me Off 09-28-2009 11:55 AM

He put a load of players on the transfer list after about 2 or 3 games, the guys as hotheaded a manager as he was a player.

Still, at least he hasn't taken it to the extremes of Mickey Adams
BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | P | Port Vale | Adams puts Vale squad up for sale

zeppy111 09-30-2009 06:18 AM

Im not sure how splendidly this will work but I have set up some little fantasy stuff in the last hour for MB, so anyone who is keen to join read further.

If you keen to play then if you don't already have a team, make one here: http://fantasy.premierleague.com/

Then when you have completed that select the leagues option > Join league
MB Fantasy League: 1875861-376338 (just the basic league)

and/or

MB Derby League: 1875861-376340 (Contestants are randomlly paired up and play head-to-head against each other every weekend, then who ever wins the pairing gets 3 points and so on)

Hopefully there will be quite a few people join up... The more the merrier eh!

Mojo 09-30-2009 05:05 PM

^^ I'll do this tomorrow if anyone else bothers.

Bulldog 10-01-2009 04:26 PM

May as well give it a go. I'll see if I can start on it when I've got a bit more time on my hands tomorrow.

Mojo 10-02-2009 03:44 AM

Is it worth signing up then? Is anyone else on board?

Bulldog 10-02-2009 04:01 AM

Well, I'm gonna join both, so we may as well try and get it off the ground eh.

So, yeah, come one come all. Only 3 of us in this so far.

Mojo 10-02-2009 07:49 AM

Alright, i joined.

Whats your team then Bulldog?

dollarsandcents 10-02-2009 07:53 AM

I've joined too, although I rushed my team as I was busy.

I'm Dyslexia Untied.

zeppy111 10-02-2009 08:02 AM

Good to see some people joining, spread the word. The more the better. I have a feeling my side are going to have a really ****e weekend sadly.

Mojo 10-02-2009 08:04 AM

Can we not have a little spy and see what teams we all picked? I'm nosey like that.

Gordon Bennett AFC, featuring the talents of the world class manager Al B Wonderful :D

As for my team, I'll just say you can probably have a good guess who one of my strikers, goalies and defenders are.

Union Jacks are your lot then?

Mojo 10-02-2009 08:39 AM

Yeah thats me.

I always choose my team the same way, which is by choosing the team i would pick if there were no limitations and then working backwards after ive gone about £100m over. I was just happy that i actually managed to retain 4 of the players i had from the very start.

Rodallega, Bramble?

I can't see anyones team yet. Mine is fairly straightforward, sneak peak:
Midfield: Kuyt, Wright-Phillips and Edwards(Wolves) and Fletcher...

^^ Yeah, nothing seems really obvious mate, unless of course you meant you went for Wigan players.

I only have one Sunderland player in my team.

I have Fletcher in my midfield too, if you mean Darren.

Bulldog 10-03-2009 05:04 AM

Yeah, I've got Kirkland, Bramble and Rodallega. The rest are pretty obvious really - Torres, Gerrard, Milner, bla di bla di bloom.

Mojo 10-03-2009 07:13 AM

I have Milner in mine too. I wanted Gerrard but he had to go to make room for Rooney and Van Persie.

BBC SPORT | Football | Premier League | Hull 2-1 Wigan

Typical. Absolutely bloody typical of this nauseatingly inconsistent start to the season - following up arguably the best result in the club's history by losing to Hull.

Oh well...

Music <3 10-03-2009 11:53 AM

Man Utd getting beat 2-1 from Sunderland haha.

Mojo 10-03-2009 12:05 PM

Music <3 10-03-2009 12:22 PM

Mojo 10-03-2009 12:30 PM

Mojo 10-03-2009 12:45 PM

Heh well i cant argue you lot were good for your goal like, it was a massacre towards the end. Absolutely gutted though. Were getting used to late goals against Man U after Vidic's last season as well.

Music <3 10-04-2009 08:09 AM

zeppy111 10-04-2009 08:26 AM

Mojo 10-04-2009 08:34 AM

Yeah Arsenal came from behind twice. All of their goals were great.
