Arsenal have a few players out inc. Alexis Sanchez, Delph returns, Clark out and Baker in.

Goose; Cissokho, Okore, Baker, Scottish Cafu; Sanchez, Delph, Westwood; Benny Gil, Tekkers, Weimann

2-1 Villa. It's gonna happen

**ahem**

Not too good after today.

Best thing for us, I said it before, is to go down. We're just not trying; we have the players, but they just don't seem bothered. I mean, how many times did we give the ball away to Arsenal? It's like we've already decided we're heading down and don't give two ****s. No goals in how many ****ing hours of football? Ten? Not good enough, not even close. Need to shake all the players up, lose Benteke and Weiman probably, if we have to, but it might knock some sense into us. Even midtable survival is not a god-given right, and you have to fight for your place, or you're goin' to Snaketown!

Getting relegated would be a disaster for us, it would affect us more than most clubs. Nobody would buy us, we'd lose all our top players and it would take us years to recover & come back up.

It's not the players that are the issue. They have to take some of the blame (especially Gabby, Benteke & N'Zogbia) but the real problem is Lambert, he's a chancer. We have changed our personnel, approach w/ regards to the transfer market & style of play multiple times, he is the one constant of the past three years.

If I wasn't a Villa fan I'd honestly want us gone, we're stinking up the league and robbing a place in the Premier League off clubs who can actually entertain and want to have a go at scoring.

Villa think their place in the Premiership is a god-given right. Sure, it could be really bad if/when we went down, but it would shake up all those egos who think there's no way we're gonna end up in the Championship.

Agree about Lambert, but I'm always loath to put all the blame on the manager's shoulders. Guys here need to step up. Compete, for ****'s sake. Arsenal could have won without even turning up last week. We were lucky to get nil!

In this day and age, getting relegated is an economic disaster. We're already on a budget, we'd be fucked without the Premier League money. There is no guarantee we'd come back either given our track record under Lambert against lower league sides in cup competitions.

100% Lambert (and Lerner's) fault.

Guzan - very good PL goalkeeper, USA's number 1

Jores Okore - Danish international, very highly rated young CB
Ciaran Clark - Irish international, made massive strides this season
Alan Hutton - Scottish international, Scottish Cafu etc
Ron Vlaar - Dutch international, stand out player at the World Cup

Fabian Delph - English international, best midfielder at the club
Carles Gil - Valencia fans wanted to keep him, typical tricky little Spaniard
Carlos Sanchez - Colombian international

Christian Benteke - Belgian international, one of the top young strikers in Europe

This squad is easily capable of finishing 9th-12th. Need to sack him before it's too late.

Goofle 02-03-2015 03:10 PM

Most of the players you listed there are pretty poor in all fairness. Sure, not relegation standard but it's hardly like you have a team capable of finishing 9th.

Cuthbert 02-03-2015 03:11 PM

Which ones are the poor players? I'm guessing you'll say Okore after the 5-0 and Guzan but who are the others? Vlaar?

Goofle 02-03-2015 03:49 PM

Guzan, Clark, Hutton and Sanchez mainly. Not seen much of Okore, and Vlaar isn't really "poor" (I'd say mid table standard).

Anyway, Arsenal are in fantastic form at the moment. Unbelievable midfield chemistry, especially Cazorla and Ramsey. Those guys work so well as the two oh was of the DM. Pass, defend, get forward. Magical.

Now bring Alexis back in the team in place of Theo and we might actually field our best XI for the first time this season.

-----------------------Ospina
Bellerin---Mertesacker---Koscielny---Monreal
----------------------Coquelin
--------------------------------Cazorla
----------------Ramsey
Özil--------------------------------------Alexis
-----------------------Giroud
