I had no idea the NFL was around in 1863.

I was going by the formation of the FA

But it still beats his wannabe rugby game.

Ok, ok.....NFL loses. They need to change their name. Now check out the story and live with the humiliation already. Silly game.

No, I wouldn't like to explain. That is why there is a link to the article, so you can read it.

Having read your 2 year old article I still fail to see where you are coming from. The article clearly states that the violent acts described are perpetrated because of anti-American feelings. It has nothing to do with 'soccer' per se. The same would be evident if U.S. baseball or NFL teams regularly played in Central America (although it might help if anywhere outside the U.S. actually took those sports seriously).

"The anti-American sentiment is the biggest thing," said goalkeeper Tim Howard, who plays club soccer in England. "As Americans, we play the big brother role. People either resent that or appreciate it. They either thank you or hate you."

Goalkeeper Kasey Keller, who plays professionally in Germany, is able to separate politics from fan passion. "The way we are treated and the way the country is perceived is different," he said. "Yes, some people are critical of Americans as a whole or critical of our policies, but nobody is mad at me personally."

In summary, I'd say stop talking sh*te and try going to a few 'soccer' matches before making ill informed judgements.

Coming into an English Football thread, posting an article about the American team and then telling us all that it is a silly game is tantamount to suicide. I detest NFL but I have not once been in the NFL thread to proclaim so because it's just shit stirring and I would get my arse kicked all about the place, and quite rightly so. Maybe there is a moral in there somewhere?

If by "tantamount to suicide" is getting booted or disabling my account I'll go ahead and risk it. There is no reason why you can't go to an NFL thread and put in your opinion. If you have refrained from doing so is only evidence you are a better person than me in this regard. I don't really worry about getting my arse kicked all about the place. This is a forum afterall.

*But I appreciate your looking at the article.

Im a moderator not a fascist. I would'nt do anything like that but you have to accept that mainly British members post in here and they will all disagree with you. I would'nt put my opinion in a NFL thread because to me it is completely pointless as I don't like it.
