We're not really. Just average.

Only 8 teams have won the World Cup and England is one of them. France only managed to win it in '98 when they hosted it, Spain only won it recently too (2010). The Netherlands have never won it.

We have had lots of world class players. We punch below our weight in competitions but we are also hurt by competing as individual teams (Scotland/England/Wales/Northern Ireland). No other country in the world does that. A UK team would have won more than one World Cup

Also we didn't even enter the first few World Cups.

Why not? Decided to appease Germany a few years early?

I'm not sure tbh the guys in charge just decided not to send a team for the first two. Think it's cos they didn't want to risk losing or maybe they just didn't consider it an important competition as it was in its infancy.

Irish pundits just quipped about Brazil:

"And they haven't got David Luis, Liam."
"True, Eamonn, which is a big bonus to any team."

Hope Switzerland can pull off a shock but I'm going 3-0 to the Selacao sadly.

Must have been the way they said it.

You need to know your football. Luis is a ****ing liability. They're far better off without him, and he's not good enough to be picked.

Batty, if I said Luis was equivalent to your Joey Belladonna in The Return of the Kings of Metal, would you get it then?
