I went out there to donate a basket from Lemon lake on Saturday and so I met the director and got the nickel tour. They have a lot of work to do before the Aug 9th ribbon cutting by Paul McBeth but they have lots of help. This course will be on the same property as the new Obama Library out at Jackson Park, right next to the Jackson Park Community Farm where you can pick a snack to eat during your round, so thats a nice perk. I also noticed that the Jackson Park Inner Harbor is right there, so I figured conceivably you could take a boat from the Mississippi river and travel up the Illinois/Des Plaines River to the Chicago River where it lets out in Lake Michigan at the River Walk, then just scoot down south to the Jackson park Harbor, dock, cross the street and hit the course, then get back in your boat and head back to where ever it was you came from before it gets dark... hopefully.

I didn't die getting there, being there, or leaving from there, btw. Just don't try getting there from the expressway at night because of the areas you have to travel through just west of it. *shiver* At least you can tell the gang bangers and dealers by the way they drive five thousand miles an hour and don't follow traffic laws of any kind whatsoever. Look both ways even if you have the green. ****ers are crazy out there.

Gonna be a tough sell for a lot of reasons, but they're moving right along.

I'm planning a disc golf vacation from Chicago to Denver to go play in the mountains. Give me some a that elevation! I'll be stopping through Camden II out near Davenport, then on to my friends place out in Iowa. I have a few other courses mapped out like Cottonmill DGC in Kearny NE, but I'm probably just gonna stop every few hours and take a look on uDisc at the current surrounding area and pick one. The final destination west will be Beaver Ranch. I've heard good things.

Hope you keep a record on here somewhere of your trip..That would certainly interest me Plonker..extradaire...haha

I am also envious, been nowhere to speak of, what seems like for ever....

Cannot believe they have a new Centre for Disc Golf in Croydon, and only in a childhood haunt..Lloyds Park....

I'll try to get some pics.

I was looking through some links for the Croydon course. Interesting, it's been around since 2007 and the contact for the course has a really low PDGA number. If you're only 4 digits like he is, then you've been around a while. I also see he only has 2 career wins like me. lol

I wonder if the air pressure helps or hurts you? Use heavier discs I guess?

And of course lol @ Beaver Ranch.

They become VERY overstable at higher altitudes so discs that will turn and burn to the right on a RHBH throw will become straight flyers, and yes, lolz.

This is a fun one to watch the live scores with my guy Philo in 2nd going into round 3. I'll be checking the YouTube coverage at some point:

Oh that sounds like the **** for someone like me with a noodle for a throwing arm.

Thats the plan. I've got a bag full of Impacts, Mustangs, and Panthers (all considerably understable) ready to chuck as far as I can get them ****ers to go.

The 2 problems I see with throwing down a mountain though are getting up the mountain to throw down it and then hopefully finding where I threw it down the mountain. Big hurdles.

I've got my itinerary all mapped out. Five hours of travel each day is very doable, so I'll have plenty of time to get some rounds in at each stop. One of which will be a 2-day stay in sunny downtown Des Moines so I get to see all the corn. Then we'll whisk away to Kearney NE for a brief round of quality disc golf and then finally on to Denver where we'll be staying at a fancy shmancy place until we get kicked out because I should be broke by then.

For the ride home, I'll probably just drive straight through with a stop at Starved Rock.
