Default Re-production

Hi Gurus,

I recently bought a Yamaha Clavinova CVP-309GP digital piano. I would like to record and then convert to CD's without going through MIDI to MP3 conversion. In addition to saving on floppy/USB the piano has a line out connection as well which I can input into a CD recorder.

Am I on the right track. The shop which sold me the piano suggested Yamaha CDR HD-1500 which costs about $600. Do I have to buy such an expensive item? All I want is to record directly into any format which I could save on a CD and then replay in the car or whatever.

Please note that when saved on the floppy/USB, the recording is in the MIDI format.

Also, how can I ensure that the beauty of the sound of the piano is preserved in the recording?

Thanks.

Sean.
