Default 9 month old amp not working

I got an Orange Crush amp last November, and was satisfied with performance until earlier today when I came to play my guitar. I encountered an issue which I don't know how to fix.

Basically, nothing that I've plugged in (attempted through multiple jacks) has worked. This includes my guitar, 90's TV set, CD player, tape player and keyboard. I hear a mild buzzing interference noise which increases and induces a rumbling "avalanche/helicopter" noise if turned up all the way on the "volume" dial. The "gain" dial has absolutely no effect on the interference noise, whereas in the past it did., which makes me think that something isn't right. It makes absolutely no interference sound when I plug a wire into the input jack, making me think the amp is at fault. I attempted to play a CD from my player through to the amp. If the volume of both were turned up all the way, I could very quietly make out the music beneath a buzzing noise.

Is it likely that the amp is broken, or could something else be causing the problem? I've tried disconnecting it, different items, different connectors, and still no change. It still has all the service tags intact from the date of purchase, but I'd rather like to know some tricks to get it working again, since this is limiting me from recording non-acoustic music at the moment.

If the amp's only 9 months old, get it repaired under warranty or, better still, replaced.

I'm more of a player than a tinkerer, but my limited knowledge would suggest that the pre-amp is bad, which from a small search indicates that this is common. You'll likely get a better answer from a guitar players forum though.
