Hey guys, what's your preference for bridges/saddles? I chose a 3 un-compensated brass saddle setup with the original stainless steel ashtray plate. I don't really play too high up the neck so intonation for those mad retarded solos isn't really needed.

I know GB is going to come in and beat the **** out of the 3 saddle setup and maybe the telecaster in general. Truth is though, no stringed and fretted instrument can be perfectly intonated and that probably haunts him in his dreams.

I know that, sure as hell, but the telecaster 3 saddle setup is absolutely awful...

Guitars have done just fine with 6 way intonation for a long time now, but 3 saddle tele setups that aren't compensated are the devil. THE DEVIL I SAY!

Then again, I play a lot of mad retarded solos, so yeah.

that's a tricky question because there's is so much variation in the same brand.

My brother has some kind of epiphone hollowbody which has amazing tone.

I like the Tune-O-Matic Stoptail/through-the-body myself. Keep it simple.

I always find that bridge way too high off the body for comfortable picking.

I spent so many years playing a Les Paul, and altogether hating it, but the bridge was the one thing that I became conditioned to love. I definitely agree with you, it's just something I've grown comfortable with.

lol that's what I use as well. A 3 saddle vintage style tele. I LOVE it, sure it doesn't have the intonation of a 6 saddle/tunomatic bridge but It definitely helps create a different sound even when playing acoustically.

One question to you tho Lips, how does the ashtray cover affect palm muting? Is there still enough space to do so properly?
