Metal in most cases allows drummers to showboat without it being out of place, I wouldn't say its the best but still worth noting.

Yea, metal is a great one for it, but my problom with metal drummers is that they tend to be completely 1 dimensional. Lots of metal drummers are only good at metal drumming. ie double bass and blastbeat patters and rudiments.

Funk and jazz drummers usually tend to be more well rounded and able to play more creatively thru different types of music.

Not that i dont respect metal drumming, its hard, and sounds great, just lota more out there.
