Here's something to get you started - a large chord chart. There might be something better out there, but this was easy to find and should be easy to understand.
The first chords you should learn are these : E, A, D, C and G. Also learn the minors Em, Am and Dm. When you got those, you can start practicing on moving up the neck. You should learn F first. Then F#m, B, Bm, Bb, C#m, Gm and so on. When you have these, chords will get easy and you can play around and figure stuff out on your own. For learning how to play them, I would play songs that use them. On the net, it's easy to find chords to popular songs. Just use those for practice .. You could even listen to the songs if you have them and try to strum along. Fingerplay and stuff is perhaps a little less straightforward. Years back, I practiced playing songs that had simple fingerplay and just figured them out, for example songs like Street Spirit by Radiohead.
