Custom BC Richs kick ass, low end ones well pretty much suck. So i would say jackson.

Jim Root actually uses a custom Fender Tele and a Charvel...can't remember the model name

jim root uses a tele right now. but back in the days of iowa he used a jackson custom soloist. so i guess the correct thing to say would be jim root used a jackson. also in a filmclip for heretic anthem on conan o brien he used a PRS.

i'd say bc rich. i own a BC Rich platinum series Ironbird custom. and i have NO complaints. its the best guitar ive ever played. the fretboard is rosewood, and it feels amazing. it stays intune pretty well even though i have a floyd rose and use it frequently. i say that no one should flat out dis a certain type of guitar. i think that every guitar sucks, and rocks in its own way. BC Rich is a METAL company. they make guitars for metal. jackson i think is more like... alt. or punk. so its all a matter of tastes

Jackson have better quality control and produce much better guitars at the low end.

BC Rich at the custom shop level are good guitars butyou can pretty much get better for less anywhere you choose in their range of guitars.

Jacksons custom shop is fantastic by the way, but they're VERY expensive and their waiting times are obscene.
