What you said about each guitar is true in tone but there two very opposite guitars. One is basically the pinnacle of single coil guitars and the other is the most popular humbucker guitar.

For sure. These small companies are making guitars of equal or better quality for a fraction of the price. Even American based ones like Shecter produces amazing quality and great tone with the standard setup.
