I don't know even that would matter. She'd still be learning from scratch anyways! I wish her luck in learning the violin. It takes practice to master but then it sounds great :)

I am a percussionist, and have been studying for eleven years so far, but I have learned a little bit of recorder, guitar, violin, cello, viola, and string bass. I am also learning piano, and am taking cello lessons next semester.

I can sort of play piano, I guess. Only been seriously at it for 6/7 months so... :P

I'd love to learn to play the harp, but I can't find a teacher anywhere in my province. ):

I might start up some violin lessons soon, as well.

As for other instruments... well I like them all, so I guess I'll take it in my stride to learn to play as many as I can!

Play rock band on expert, it's a good start.

I play the tenor drums in a band:)

Like many people here, I play the guitar. I've been doing it for a couple of years, and I'd say that I've only recently started to get good at it. I mostly play acoustic blues and folk, but I'm planning on getting a Tele and Big Muff to really let rip with some electric sounds. I also have a piano and harmonica and have learned some simple stuff on both, although I've never had the dedication to sit down and learn them properly.

As for an instrument I'd like to learn? I'd say the Mandolin, and maybe the Drums. Pretty stereotypical instruments all round, but hey, I love 'em.

Burning Down 05-18-2011 09:44 AM

Yeah it took a couple of years for me to get good at the guitar too. I play more bass now though.

Mykonos 05-18-2011 10:09 AM

I've been looking at basses every now and again, but I'm not sure if I'd benefit from one just yet. I don't have a band or any inherent music writing ability (well, at least until I get round to learning theory properly) so I'm more than content just jamming away with 12 bar blues and famous riffs for now.
