Would just like to update everybody that through music education, I am learning to play trumpet and clarinet. Also, I am in private lessons on cello, piano, and percussion. Percussion, however, I've been playing since 2003.

I've played a trumpet in middle school.
But so far, I've stuck to piano but I only know a few songs.
I play for fun in a way, rather than serious with sheet music and stuff like that.

I've played guitar off and on for about thity years. I've recently taken up the trumpet. I also have more interest in taken additional brass and wind instruments. I guess a composer playes multi instruments in his/her head to get inspiration for the complete composition score.

One more thought, you're never too old to learn another instrument.

I started on piano when I was about 9, but Little League interfered ultimately, though I had to also play piano as a Music Major in College, along with a string, a brass, and a woodwind.

So while my main instrument is guitar for the last 50 years, I have also played trapset drums, and saxophone, and dabbled with trumpet, trombone, and even cello when I had to play a string section instrument.

I have more facility on sax and drums than any of the others (except guitar), but for the last 20 years or so have pretty much just concentrated on guitar as my main instrument.

That takes enough work just to keep my chops up on guitar, at this age.

I sometimes wish I had kept at saxophone more, as I prefer it as a solo jazz voice over the sound of the guitar in jazz, however music is music and I just can't see all that work to get the kind of facility I'd want on sax. Besides, my teeth are a bit sketchy for maintaining solid chops for the future on a wind instrument.
