Any Other Old Yamaha Acoustic Owners?

I have a 36 year old FG160, It was my first steel string guitar I bought used in college for $125. Great guitar. It's o full and big sounding. I friend of mine just really went at the neck and it now plays great.

Don't know much about Yamaha other than the Nylon string classical ones. I have a Taylor and Martin. And a cheap Sigma as well. I'm a fan of any old guitar.

I love old Yamahas. The place I go to get my tech work done has a 1970s era FG-180 Nippon Gakki red label. The thing is beat up and well loved, but the tone on it is amazing. I always wanna buy it from him, but it belongs to a guy who left it there at the shop, and it is not for sale.

If i ever talk him into selling it though, I would buy it in a second.

I've got a 1983 (might be a 1982) Yamaha FG-345II, which I retired a couple years ago but still have in my closet. The neck was getting too warped and was getting harder to fix, so a couple years ago I bought a new one. It sounded great, though.

That's a step up from mine. My old Yamie sound so loud and full. I was just strumming some tunes down E to D and it was huge

I've got an old Yamaha acoustic, it's probably about 20 years old. It's a great guitar, nice full sound, and still kickin' after years of (ab)use.

In case of acoustic guitars, the newer they are the better.
