Ibanez all the way.

the sound people like John Schofield get out of ibanezs is just amazing. there is much less difference in sound in other guitars than there is with the Ibanez

I like Michal Kelly guitars. I teyed one out at a guitar syore, it sounded great was really light, had a great red painted flame maple top. And had some awsome custom flame inlay, and had some nice humbucker pickups that sounded really good and was 400$ (because it was made in korea). SO then i went on harmony central and read some reviews. Now i just need to get myself to hand over 400$ for it. Okay 399$.

From what i have tryed out in stores i like ibanez and shecter guitars. I haven't tryed anything to expensive though. I have never even touched a gibsn because the store owner doesn't trust me with one because he says i'm to young (and i haven't damaged any guitars i have tryed out). Come on i'm 17 for gods sake he should trust me.

Gibson have a great sound although they're damn heavy for such a small body. Fenders are ok too, but I hate the fingerboards for some reason.
