Man, some of Deans guitars... I just can't imagine somebody ever buying these.
I've played Razorbacks and other Deans, they're fun as hell, but ****, are there people that like Megadeth this much? Enough to spend a paycheck on a Megadeth themed guitar?

I could never get around the explorer shape, it's too awkward. Vs I can manage (though it's still not my favourite), but it just feels weird to me.

You're right, but the guitar in that video isn't a Dean - it long predates his dean endorsement. That's a replica.

I thought originally it was made by a company called Rocket or Ruby - Turns out it was actually a custom made by Wayne Charvel.

As for Dean's actual quality... I've played a bunch, from old Cadillacs to MLs and modern Razorbacks. They're all style and no substance.

Also, graphic topped guitars are surprisingly popular. The Album Artwork Megadeth guitars actually sell really well, as did the various themed ESP DV8's that Dave had made during that endorsement.

there's a Dave Mustaine custom in my local music store. it's surprisingly cheap (£599) compared to the other customs in the store.

also, you probably already know this, but that's not just Megadeth-themed. it's one of Mustaine's personal customs. it just happens to have replicas made that are for sale.
