Default Quest for drumming immortality...ok i'll take competency

You all seem like a cool bunch, so I'll keep this brief.

Would anyone here be interested to read a blog of someone's trials and tribulations trying to become a tech metal drummer from scratch? I've searched as much as I can and not seen that anyone has done or is doing it already.

I've encountered several problems that seem a bit unusual so maybe it would be interesting to read, and I could certainly benefit from the input of drummers reading it, who knows.

I could just be content to bang out AC/DC but f*** that.

Sounds like a good idea for a journal..

I advice you to create one without asking for approval. if it's good ppl will read it.

Ok, done. I have a tendency not to start something unless I know I'll make a good go of it. I'll see what I can come up with over the next few days and if it catches it catches.

You'll quickly find out that modesty is a sign of weakness around here so just

It's all I can do to pick up the pieces of my blown mind, unsoil my trousers, and get to work.

I'm 6 months into the quest so it's going to be quite a lot of backstory. People will be on the edges of their damp seats by the time I get to describing my triumphant 2nd drum lesson.

I've got something similar going on in journal land. Go for it.

How's that been going? Just make sure to always question what other techniques are out there and be informed. Many drummers develop painful technical habits just because they stick to what their first teacher showed them. There's a lot of stuff online you can compare with, stay curious.
