Question A snare question

Is the snare supossed to go on the right, or the left side?

The center usually. Right between your legs, which in the case of most right-handed drummers would be slightly to the left

Oh, darn. I've got mine smack on the full right. And then I see countless drummers with their snares on the left. I think the snare in the middle is logicless. I guess.
Now what am I going to do?

Well you need one foot to be on the hi-hat pedal and one foot on the kick drum pedal so you would really need to have it in the middle.

I do just fine without it in the middle. So, maybe it doesn't need to be in the middle.

Well, my hi-hat sounds like dirt so I don't use the pedal, I just tap it with a drumstick.
(I'm too lazy to find the dictionary to look up 'unorthodox'.)
