Most overrated bands ever?

Whether a band is over-rated, is purely subjective...depends on whether or not you like them.
I like The White Stripes and I've heard them being described as over-rated.

My opinion of an over-rated band would be someone like Def Leppard, never saw what the fuss was about.

They were a bit overrated. But atleast they could play alot better than alot of those glam rock bands of their era. As many articles as I've read about the glam rock bands, I still don't get why men would be so obsessed with looking like women....rasies too many questions. =/

Yeah Nirvana is still the most overrated band there is. A dude dies and all of a sudden they are an amazing band. Yeah im going to call a no go on that one. It's ok though, ill take being called stupid on the internet it doesn't offend me.

Nirvana was a worldwide name before he died. And it wasn't meant to offend, but you just proved the statement true. Even if someone isn't a fan of them, it's pretty thick to post their name in a "Most overrated band" thread.
Elvis got more fame from his death than he had when he was alive.
People should listen to the music, not the tabloid's opinions.

I'm not a fan of Nirvana either. I listen to the music and I just don't care much for it. However, I am just annoyed with people saying they are a great band. I think they are far from it, but this is just one man's opinion.
