That just about sums up my opinion of them.

green day. i used to listen to them all the time back in the day. but i think maybe they should have stopped back in the day. they are way over-rated and over-played. i'm sorry to all the fans but they just aren't that great anymore.

(but of course nickleback goes without saying. they beat greenday as over-rated for sure)

-Guns N' Roses (absolutely awful, 100% bad)
-Tool (this just in: they are not the greatest band of all time!)
-Panic!, Fall Out Boy, MCR, etc... (that whole genre is a joke, bent on cashing in on the musical opinion of 14 year olds)
-Chiodos (all of my friends love this band, no idea why, they give me an absolute headache)

Per category.

Pop: Prince. Sorry guys, not better than Michael Jackson.
Hip Hop: Timbaland, and most artists he is associated with.
Classic/Hard Rock: Deep Purple. I like them alright, but I never understood why they have such a strong following.
Progressive Rock: Marillion. Oh look a Genesis cover band with David Gilmour guitar solos, real progressive there.
Metal: Megadeth. Thrash metal is the only metal genre I really like and Megadeth have always been the one I never cared for.
Both prog and metal: Dream Theater. Congrats guys, you suck at both.
Punk: The Fall. One post punk band I can do without. And Pavement while ripping them off from the get go, ended up doing a much better job anyway.
Alternative rock: The Smiths. Because they inspired more crappy music than any other band I can think of.
Indie: Hahahahahaha.

Overall: Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan.

I don't know about the situation of other's here, but OMFG MY FRIENDS KEEP PLAYING THIS 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK, 29/30/31 DAYS A MONTH, 365 DAYS A YEAR THAT IT MAKES ME GO CRAZY. FEEL LIKE HANGING MYSELF UPSIDE DOWN WHENEVER I LISTEN TO THEM.
Unfortunately, I've been forced to listen to almost every song of theirs soo many times that i can't stand them anymore.

Other than these, any hyped up CR@P such as This List

Almost all mainstream rap/hip-hop.

EDIT: Whoops forgot U2 and Nirvana too.
