Especially since they often like to consider themselves more intelligent than other people and in possession of some sort of higher understanding, you don't expect such careless nonsense comments.

The Beatles are the best at what they did. If you don't like bands or sounds that gravitate towards that side of things, you shouldn't comment.

I love basically most things from the 60's that is successful, I don't hate the Beatles I feel they're incredibly overrated and their legacy is what is terrible with music today. I'm not a metalhead although I listen to metal I'm not a proggie although I listen to prog. I'm very into classic rock and what could be classified as early 60's pop. I love the Beatles ilk, just not the Beatles. Accept that they're overrated and take my comment at face value, not based on my tastes.

Also Comus are aboslutely epic, every time I listen I'm reminded that I should reallly properly check out Opeth soon.

I would consider neither the Beatles not Radiohead overratted. Both are a group of extremely talented and creative musicians, and both have put out absolutly amazing albums. They deserved all that they got.

Actually I agree with Comus that the beatles are overrated. Don't get me wrong, I listen to them look at my last.fm if you want, however I think their legacy is more in what they founded than their music itself.

I agree to an extent. I feel the same way about my favorite band, Nirvana. The music really is great, but they, like the Beatles, have become "over rated" in that 13 year old kids walk around the mall in "Kurt Cobain" inspired clothing.

Likewise, every struggling garage band states the Beatles as one of their influences, even if they sound NOTHING like them.

So yes, in that way they are overrated. Some one said earlier that Led Zeppelin was Overrated, which I disagree with. Because in my mind, they are underrated when compared to rivals like Black Sabbath.

I always hear how great of a band that 'Tool' is. In my personal opinion they have alot of fans that think they are one of the best, and that is really great if they are your style of music. But I just believe that they are way overrated as one of the all time great's. And I respect there fans that are loyal to them. Tool simply is there style of music they can relate to, & prefer to listen to. Peace to all....(VB)

I would go with Deep Purple
don't get me wrong they have some great albums and a lot of very good songs.but with the soo many changes in their line-up over the years they are not really a band and they just kept an original member who is by the way the drummer...they changed all the key players so I would say and they haven't made a decent album since 1974 when they should have called it off...

What I've heard of Purpendicular isn't bad.
