Bob Dylan (the praise for this guy convinces me the world is stupid)
The Supremes
The Cure (I actually love them, but they ARE overrated)
Nirvana (I still like some of their stuff)
Smashing Pumpkins (still like them)
Radiohead
Morrissey (absolute genius but still way overrated)
The Beatles (I say this and I have everything they have ever done)
Jeff Buckley
The Jam
Metallica
ACDC
NOFX
Dave Matthews Band (worst band with mainstream success ever)

and do people actually rate Good Charlotte highly? I thought everyone hated them

Please explain why your dislike for Dylan.

Also you may not like the Beatles but cant deny the fact that they have heavily influenced countless bands throughout history.

Oh yeah, I LOVE the beatles, I just think they are overrated.

Dylan sounds like pure crap to me. I don't think his lyrics are that inventive. The music is nothing extraordinary. I think Dylan was more a product of his times than anything. More and more people who try to get into Dylan hate his music. When I was in high school all the pothead kids loved him and would try to force feed me his music. The only song I have ever heard by him that I liked was wigwam. Just pure crap. I know no other way to put it. And if you look at the influence on music, what artist that has been primarily influenced by Dylan ever went on to do crap? The only one I can think of is Donovan, and he didn't achieve success until he ditched the whole Dylan thing and became a beatnik guru type and his music was more on par with the Beatles.

There's a number of overrated artists out there. POD, Good Charlotte, Atreyu, almost every emo band, Limp Bizkit.

Then again, any band we dislike will be tagged as overrated. But that's natural though.

I think many people here are missing the definition of overrated.

For example many people have said Good Charlotte, Limp Bizkit ^, and bands like that. Just because they are popular does not make them overrated. No one is claiming they have an overflow of musical ability and talent.

A band you may say is over rated (i do not agree with this but for examples sake) is Pink Floyd, not Three Days Grace.

I bolded the lies, made the stupid things red and underlined the irrelevant points. Good day.

"More and more people who try to get into Dylan hate his music." isn't an opinion and Dylan is one of the most influential artists ever so saying everything he influenced didn't go on do anything IS a lie. You may not like the music but saying it isn't extraordinary? What sounded like Dylan before Dylan? They're not opinions, they're bullshit.
