But seriously, I've never heard a voice that has absolutely stunned me like Buckley's.

Go listen to Chris Cornell. Hes the best voice (In rock) ive ever heard for me.

As for Buckley's album 'Grace' I do find it pretty mediocre bar a few tracks.
But you can tell just by listening to the album that he had a lot of talent and maybe would have went on to make even better albums, had he survived.

As for the tragic death situation thing, I think yet again it added to the hype surrounding him & his one album(not meant in any disrespect though).

It doesn't matter if you didn't like the album; the quality of his singing is a fact.

I dont like them either, I dislike a lot of bands and mostly all of their contemporaries & that similar kind of music.
But I dont even feel the need to even mention the likes of these bands as they are so obviously crap that it doesnt even need mentioning. (IMO).
P.S. When it comes to the likes of The Beatles/Stones then it obviously requires a lot more in-depth detail and discussion considering they are so high up in the 'music world'.

'took enough crap' would have been more publicity for them though, whether it be good or bad.
So could have contributed to more album sales/more commercialisation so If I were you I would just keep it at that.
Finally, just to reiterate yes, they are another band I dislike...

Who cares what Steve Coogan said? Hes a ****ing actor for christ sake!
Do you think 'quoting' or mentioning a famous actor makes your opinion any more valid/substantial than anybody elses?

In my opinion, PM & Wings was even more overblown and bloated than The Beatles!!

How does one rave about Chris Cornell's utterly annoying voice in one sentence and then go on to call Grace mediocre.

I for one owned Grace long before Buckley's untimely death and my immediate reaction to listening to it was that I had to tell as many people about it as possible. In all honesty Buckley's death wasn't all that hyped and the popularity of Grace was mainly due to word of mouth through its fans.

Yeah, Its not that I didnt like the album as such I just didnt like all the songs on it.
Like I said in my previous post about the 'Grace' album, it is obvious that he has talent just by listening to it, especially the vocals as you mentioned.
Just not entirely to my taste, but enjoy. ;)

In respone to 'how does one rave...'- simply because I have differing music tastes to yourself. Like I keep saying, I can recognise Buckleys talent when listening to the 'Grace' album but I would say that it is pretty mediocre on the whole bar a few tracks, but definitely not unlistenable; just not to my tase.
So sorry if he is some sort of 'untouchable god' in your world, but if I find something medicore then I will say it.

Also if you find Chris Cornell's voice 'utterly annoying' then it is just due to your taste and I could say the same thing about Buckley's voice but I dont because I dont have a jaded perception of musical talent as I have stated previously I can recognise that he has a very good vocal but the music itself isnt really my thing.
So you basically just contradicted yourself by saying that. :usehead:

I can relate to your comment about hearing the album then wanting to 'tell as many people about it as possible'. This is very common when you hear an album that moves you or is so great to your ears that you have to tell people about it. Personally, I had a lend of a copy and it didnt do much for me TBH.

quit pulling this shit.

you're completely entitled to your own opinion but stop making it out to be like everyone else has a problem with theirs. none of us have a jaded perception.

Im not (& did not) generalizing the term upon all other users;
or trying to elite myself from anybody else.

I was referring to Satchmo's comment about Chris Cornell's 'utterly annoying' voice as he put it and pointing out that he had just criticised me for not liking the 'Grace' album and recognising the vocal talent & then posted that!

In my opinion, judging by his comment, when it comes to recognising Chris Cornell's vocal talent he does have a jaded perception.
