Wow.

Rickenbacker 06-25-2009 04:05 PM

Oh christ.

LoathsomePete 06-25-2009 04:06 PM

If he truly has passed on then R.I.P.

gunnels 06-25-2009 04:07 PM

Rest in peace.

Richiban 06-25-2009 04:09 PM

That really sucks if true.

I remember being 6 or 7 years old and having a bath right before the world premier of the "Bad" video. It's strange that I remember that from my childhood, but I was a huge fan. It was and still is a Halloween tradition to watch "Thriller"

I think Micheal Jackson was the only artist of all time where any thing he released became an event, not just an album release.

Sparky 06-25-2009 04:11 PM

Only TMZ has reported it, i'd probably wait for at least one other source.

Michael Jackson Reported Dead at 50

Michael Jackson Dies
Posted Jun 25th 2009 5:20PM by TMZ Staff

We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived.

Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive.

We're told one of the staff members at Jackson's home called 911.

La Toya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

Sky are being very careful how they are covering this so far, by only quoting TMZ.

gunnels 06-25-2009 04:17 PM

Ed McMahon and Fara Fossett died recently too. Is it just me, or do rather famous people usually die in threes?

Alfred 06-25-2009 04:17 PM

Regardless of whether he's dead... this is quite shocking news.

someonecompletelyrandom 06-25-2009 04:19 PM

What... the ****ing hell? God I hope this isn't true. :(

right-track 06-25-2009 04:19 PM

The reports from TMZ are unconfirmed.
Other reports are saying he's in a coma.

****ing TMZ isn't always the most reliable source.

right-track 06-25-2009 04:20 PM

Los Angeles Times are running the coma story.

someonecompletelyrandom 06-25-2009 04:21 PM

Yahoo! Music as well

right-track 06-25-2009 04:23 PM

It's official.

Michael Jackson has died. L.A Times from city and law enforcement source.

Gavin B. 06-25-2009 04:27 PM

TMZ is owned by Time Warner and is a fairly reliable source for a gossip rag. The mainstream press will await confirmation either from someone from the Jackson family or the UCLA medical staff. The treatment staff summoned the entire family to the hospital which usually only happens if the patient dies or is brain dead and life supports.

Gavin B. 06-25-2009 04:31 PM

It's pretty much official, folks. The LA Times is also reporting Jackson is dead.

gunnels 06-25-2009 04:32 PM

MSNBC too. :(

someonecompletelyrandom 06-25-2009 04:38 PM

Oh me :(

It's been a really bad week. For the second time in 32 years we must utter the phrase "The King is Dead." Goodbye Michael.

Never heard that before, it's probably just you.

Mirrorball95 06-25-2009 04:51 PM

Damn someone bet me to it. I was just watching on BBC News 24 and they were only sourcing from an LA Times magazine but five minutes ago they confirmed he was dead. Only 50 year old as well. Im not a fan of his music, but I do respect him as an artist. RIP Michael.

someonecompletelyrandom 06-25-2009 04:54 PM

What's the celebrity body count for this month? June has taken David Carradine, Ed McMahon, Farah Fossit and Michael Jackson. This is a really bad month.

Kool_Dude_HaMeR 06-25-2009 04:55 PM

:-(

Mirrorball95 06-25-2009 04:55 PM

People die every day man, just because their celebrities doesnt make a difference.

cupkayke 06-25-2009 04:56 PM

This is ultimately saddening. ;/

Uh, yes it does. 'Celebrities' usually have legions of fans and admirers outside of their family and friends who will be deeply affected by their death. See the difference?

Whatsitoosit 06-25-2009 05:00 PM

some would say he died many years ago, really I'm not all that shocked... like when Anna Nicole died. I am truly saddened though, I remember watching Billy Jean when it first aired on MTV... speaking of which, they better pay him the biggest tributes in history he made them what they are.

yes, let's all just think of the scores of children he could have sexually abused if he was still alive.

Richiban 06-25-2009 05:00 PM

Farrah Fawcett

Fawcett

Whatsitoosit 06-25-2009 05:01 PM

I'm wondering why you quoted my post for this, considering it doesn't relate to anything I said.

right-track 06-25-2009 05:01 PM

Keep it on topic guys.

Use the Michael Jackson thread for that please.

Sorry, I didnt mean it to come across in a disrespectful way. Yes obviously, celebrities have a lot more publicity. I was just making a point (to Sonace) that many, many people die every single day.

Freebase Dali 06-25-2009 05:05 PM

The devastating thing is now all our Michael Jackson jokes won't be funny anymore.

gunnels 06-25-2009 05:06 PM

Never thought they were.

lucifer_sam 06-25-2009 05:06 PM
