Trout Mask Replica is very difficult to get into indeed. I had to listen to about 6 or 7 times before it started making any sense to me. Its best to listen to a little bit at a time rather than all the way through because its a ver long album and very hard going if you don't like it.

I second Urban's reccommendation of Safe As Milk. More garage blues than what he did later.

Thanks Urban, listened to it last night. Way, way easier to get into. Sure N' Uff, Electricity, Plastic factory all great tracks.
I have a request though, does anyone have the second part of the album though? The link i downloaded it from only has the first twelf songs.

Default Trout Mask Replica

I'm going to have to agree with oxeverkillx when he says that Trout Mask Replica was "The Captain's" best album. I had the pleasure of meeting and jamming with him and several members of the "Magic Band" back in the summer of 1969 before I went off on the road with my own band. I never met a more dedicated artist than Don.
