The Official Yes Thread
I was saving this one for the prog forum that i was looking foward to a long time ago, but oh well.
As many of you already know, i am a huge Yes fan. So discuss this influencial and often overlooked band here, do you like them?... How much of their material have you heard?... If Any? Feel free to express your opinions on them, positive or negative, but please dont try to start crap, i just want some friendly discussion here, i dont want this to turn into the Nirvana thread. |

Close To The Edge is my favorite too.
I also <3 Tales From Topographic Oceans, but i understand that a lot of people just can't bear to listen to it. That's what i love about Yes and a lot of prog, they challenge you with their music, you either love them or hate them... I didn't like TFTO very much the first time i heard it, but after a few more listens i fell in love with it. For me, being pretentious is all part of the fun. I'd certainly avoid the majority of their 80s and 90s stuff though.... They went downhill after 90125, they turned into a Duran Duran lite pop group... Though their last album Magnification was quite a improvement, i really liked it. |

I like Yes, but Its not a band that I can listen to for a long time, my favorite song of theirs is roundabout (though that may seem a little noobish). But there style never really appealed greatly to me.
I love the accapello version of roundabout (i think that I spelled that wrong)

I've only heard three songs....which I keep on my mediaplayer
Owner of a Lonely Heart Roundabout and Heart of the Sunrise Then LesPaul43(btw, thanks again) directed me towards that video quite a while ago on another thread and since then I have collected quite a few tracks from Rick Wakeman...I mean, wow! So I like Yes and I love Rick Wakeman.
