but as for something I like, I prefer Thurston and Lee, who can write pretty good music while interjecting noise into it

I should have said the exception was "My Only Friend". I did find that song quite pleasant and if he has any albums that are that listenable I'd certainly like to know their names.

His album Koko would be your best bet. It's melodic, calm, and atmospheric.

Also... I love Derek Bailey as well, and that video in particular really shows how funny and sociable of a man he is. It's also interesting just to see how he plays... considering he has such a unique style of playing the guitar.
