Altough I must say there's much better reggae than marley.
Don't get me wrong, I have all his albums, but there definitely is better reggae
I'll check out 'Exodus'. Thanks

I don't foresee reggae getting a lot of playtime w/ me, but who else would you suggest looking into? I'd like to give at least a few more artists a listen to.

I like Survival more.

I think I put up some reggae recs in the reggae section. Pls tell me to repeat the same if you aren't arsed to look for it.

It's always hard to say where reggae meets ska and where it meets dub.
So I might be a little off here, but you might want to try the Scientist's Dub album "Scientist rids the world of the Evil Curse of the Vampires". Another nice band (mixes ska with reggae) are the Aggrolites... Horace Andy, King Tubby...
Some of these artists have been busy for 30, 40 years. So it's hard to find 'the right stuff'. I need to make a mixtape sometime
But please be sure to check out that Scientist album I mentioned.

See if you like this
And I've always loved this very old Marley tune:

Thanks Il Duce. I'll check out Survival too. And it's no bother, I'll go look. Thank you though In fact, I didn't even think to look in the 'reggae' section in the first place *blush*. I'm going to read the Regaee/Ska Introduction and Recommendation threads there. Because honestly, I don't even know what 'ska' or 'dub' mean xo

Thank you s_k! Hmm...listening to this music gives me the urge to be relaxing on the beach w/some drinks, lol. Alas, I'll have to settle for a tropical beach screensaver I'll definitely check out the Scientist album. xo

Some more downloads

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart - Belong
One of my most anticipated album releases of 2011. Not quite sure what to make of it yet, maybe slightly underwhelmed. What strikes me at first is that they've gone for cleaner production and slightly poppier sound but still retaining most of the typical TPOBPAH traits. No tracks in particular stand out at the moment but i'm sure it'll grow on me quickly enough.

Anna Calvi - Anna Calvi
I'm digging the song 'Suzanne and I' which I have on a compilation so I decided to download this and check it out. Her voice is really amazing and kind of reminds me of Siouxsie Sioux. Gonna give the album a listen later.

Gris & Sombres Forêts - Miserere Luminis

..wow. I was half tempted to just post it straight into the Albums You're Digging thread. This could end up becoming one of my favorite metal albums.

Fang Island - s/t
Discovered this one through the "abums your not digging" thread, checked out a few songs on youtube and i had to get it.

Pixies - Trompe Le Monde

David Bowie - Diamond Dogs

Pulp Fiction OST
Probably my favourite Tarantino film, just ahead of Reservoir Dogs, which also has a great soundtrack. coincidence? I think not.

Kip Winger - This Conversation Seems Like A Dream (1997)

Solo debut from a former hair-metal frontman doing an eclectic and gorgeous sounding alternative rock/shoegaze/a touch of prog. rock sort of musical approach. Needless to say, mind blown.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Frankie Lymon... I saw a documentary recently again that I actually viewed a few years ago, and he got his little catchy Do-wops stuck in my head haha.
