Elvenking - Heathenreel

I'm just doing this to make sure you listen to the right Elvenking album first.

Japan - Tin Drum

If I was going to sum it up simply, I'd say it was 80s pop, but it's so much more than that. Electronic and world influences combine to create something really unique. Check it.

Title: For a reason
Artiste: Lifetones
Genre: No idea

Love
Bassline on the title track is pretty sweet
Kinda funky guitar on the second track
Album (EP?) is short, only six tracks
“Decide” is really, really good

Hate
Singing is very dreary
Ah crap! Here come the horns! (“Travelling”) Don't like this; like something at morning prayers in Falljuah or something. The unexpected (again, dreary) singing near the end makes it somehow worse.

End result: Meh. Very little to get excited about here, although in fairness there are only six tracks and I could only find four on YouTube. Still, wasn't impressed with what I heard overall.

So, Love or Hate? On balance, probably Hate

Chances of a full review: 0/10

Which is what you enjoy. Now I know what to include if there are any other recs I happen to listen to and keep you in mind.

Yeah, and avoid the boring dad funk rock.

Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - Clear Spot

Oh yes, you will listen to Beefheart. Who knows, you might actually kind of not hate it entirely.

Now, forcing ones musical will upon someone is a strategy I hadn't considered...

I almost considered throwing some Masayuki Takayanagi or Merzbow at him but I'm not that mean.

Edit: There's something weird about watching Beefheart ask you to listen to his music!
