The compilation album of unreleased tracks called "VU" is great too. Very strong album.

I don't really agree with your opinions on Loaded but you did a good job nonetheless.

Nice ratings, gonna agree with you about the first album... Definitely one of the best albums ever created. Especially agree about the song Heroin - one of the greatest of all time. I read somewhere once that a lot of people find it disturbing for the fact that it neither promotes nor condemns heroin use... And the song structure parallels a drug trip. Pretty intense. As for the other songs on the album I'd bump up the rating of Waiting for my Man - for me it's always been one of the highlights and I love hearing the song's contrast to Sunday Morning as it begins playing. Anyways, Lou Reed has said he was trying to write the "great American novel" into a rock album... I think he succeeded. As good as any Beatles album if you ask me.

The other ones are great too, but the first was always my fave... Need to find the second one on vinyl still.

(:

I think of Velvet Underground's debut as one of history's most overrated albums. It has some good songs (like Sunday Morning, Venus in Furs and All Tomorrows Parties) and a lot of monotonous drivel with Lou Reed doing his most annoying Bob Dylan imitation. When it's good, it's good, but when it's not ..
