I'm kind of excited you like it. Mr. Dave hated "Strange Cousins from the West" and I never heard the album.

I loved Beale Street and thought Blast Tyrant was incredible...I'd just love to see these guys get their due.

yeah, Clutch is an incredibly consistent band. I have almost off of their albums and they're able to bring fresh ideas while still maintaining a core sound. Even if there's an album by them I'm not into, there's still bound to be songs on it that I love.

The lyrics are the worst thing thing about this album. I really like this album and D.C Sound Attack is a real return to form for me and it gets a lot of airplay from me but seriously?:

CLUTCH LYRICS - "Earth Rocker" (2013) album

Most Heavy Metal bands would shy away from those lyrics unless it was an 80's album!

I would actually have to agree with you on that, I feel like when the band decided to go for more uptempo stuff Neil just went and dumbed down his lyrics.

Rawr.

Well whats terrible about that, though? I think its fine if you're accepting the premise. Or are you saying all lyrics should be top-notch all the time? (i.e. should be poetic and about real things?)

I love clutch and his lyrics but I would say they are pretty dumbed down from the beginning. Nothing wrong with that, they are not trying to fix world wars and hunger, just play good old rock and rock with a message every now and then.

Certainly not but I expect a little better from a bunch of old fellas! I still love the album though and IMO it's the best thing they have done since their S/T.

Still loving this album. I've made CD copies and placed them at my most frequented friends houses. They've been getting some regular play.

Seeing them live was one of the best concerts I've been to. They nailed every tune.
